Within Practice, created in 2016 in Stockholm by choreographer Björn Säfsten, will make its first international appearance this year – in Angers and Nantes, France, from 10 to 15 November 2025.
This festival invites participants to immerse in dance practices through two types of sessions: morning classes and workshops, open to experienced dancers, professionals, and those aspiring to become professionals. At the end of the week, participants and the local audience will have the opportunity to engage with practice presentations from each artist, as well as a public panel.

In France, the festival is organized by and in collaboration with The Cndc – Angers , CCNN – Centre Chorégraphique National de Nantes, with the support of Solstice, Pôle International de Production et de Diffusion – Angers–Nantes.
Within Practice was founded by artistic director Björn Säfsten in 2017 and the first edition took place in 2018. The festival focuses on practice and practices from the perspective of the practitioners – collaborating with the major venues and organisations for dance in Stockholm with their main partners MDT, Dansens Hus and Stockholm University of the Arts, amongst others.
The festival concept has been developed in collaboration with Anna Efraimsson, artistic director of MDT.
