Nordberg Movement is an independent agency-, production, development and coaching office for the performing arts, focused on the field of dance, choreography, music and hybrid artforms.

We foster long term relationships between the office and our associated artists, and in turn with those artists and their audience and collaborators at home and abroad. Focal point for our artistic relationships is to strengthen the independent artists and their teams in developing new work, circulation of their art and sustainable modes of everyday operations.

Nordberg Movement offers advice, coaching and consulting for all levels of the performing art, with a focus on strategy, new models of financing and artistic development.

Nordberg Movement was founded by Magnus Nordberg in 2011. The daily operations are centered around our office at Sveavägen 140 in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden. Our current collaborations are presented under “Artists”. Our project “Music and Movement Management” encompassing 17 unique artists-collaborations is presented here (ending June 30, 2022).

Amongst earlier collaborations are Andersson Dance/Örjan Andersson (2011-2022), Weld and Weld Company (2011-2020) and Shake it Collaborations (2013-2021). 2021-2023 the office collaborated with choreographer Elle Sofe Sara on development and distribution of “Vástádus eana -The answer is land”.

2013 and onwards Nordberg Movement initiated a longterm relationship between Andersson Dance and Scottish Ensemble, leading to a number of artistic works, amongst which “Goldberg Variations – Ternary patterns for insomnia” has toured extensively and still travels.

2020-2023 the office is leading the project “I Rörelse” with focus on education and coaching for the independent dance field. A podcast, “Ett steg fram”, found here, with six episodes, was created 2021-2022 with support by Kulturrådet/The Swedish Arts Council.

Nordberg Movement has led a number of cross-Atlantic collaborations, focusing on co-presenting artists for the international field. Collaborations include “In the works”, with Meredith Boggia Productions at La MaMa in New York, presentations at The Chocolate Factory, New York, and a four-part collaboration with showcases during OFF-CINARS in Montréal with Studio Flak (CA), Nordberg Movement, Illimité Agency (SE), Art Circulation (CA) and FÔVE diffusion (CA) 2022.

Nordberg Movement is a member organization of ISPA – International Society for the Performing Arts, IETM – International network for contemporary performing arts and Scensverige.
